A Second Breath Foundation was founded for the purpose of financially
aiding people who are waiting for or who have received lung transplants.
Medical insurance in many cases does not cover all of the costs
incurred and this foundation works with the transplant hospitals to assist
transplant candidates. A goal of the Foundation is to create a project
called Patrick’s Place, a housing environment for the transplant patient
and family prior to, during and directly after the transplant. Taking
away the financial burden and problems with finding suitable housing
will aid the patient and the family so they may focus on the most
important thing – breathing.
A Second Breath is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and as such, all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the Internal Revenue Service. 100% of donations go directly to the charity - A Second Breath is funded by directors and through fund raising.
